Pronunciation	Economides is our real name. It's pronounced Econo mee' dis (it's Greek and means "Son of the Steward).
Family Members	Steve (Dad) Age: Still feels as good as he did when he graduated college (well, with just a few more aches and pains). Grew up in Chicago Graduated Arizona State University. 2-time All American Gymnast at Arizona State University. Worked as an advertising account exec and graphic designer for 23 years. Writes and publishes the HomeEconomiser Newsletter Hobbies: Racquetball, basketball, home repair and improvement projects. Favorite Color: Black (it use to be red, but red is the image most frequently associated with debt) Has three siblings (all brothers) and is of Greek descent.
	Annette (Mom) Age: Determined to not have any more birthdays. Grew up on Long Island, NY Voice major in college and loves to sing. Plays Christmas music most of the year. Always wanted to be a mom and wife (she does both extremely well) Keeps the family running like a Swiss watch. Writes and publishes the HomeEconomiser Newsletter Hobbies: Reading books, writing to do lists, singing, gardening and snuggling in front of the fire. Favorite Color: Christmas Red and anything sparkly Has 5 siblings (3 brothers, two sisters) and is of Italian descent.
	John (Son #1) Born: 1983. Works as a technical engineer, producing events and running sound and lighting at a large church in Arizona. Eagle Scout. AA in Criminal Justice
	Becky (Daughter #1) Born: 1985. Works at Barnes and Noble helping people find the perfect book. Earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal in 2004. AA in Equine Science. Loves anything having to do with horses — except being kicked or stepped on by them
	Roy (Son #2) Born: 1989. Works at Cold Stone Creamery and loves to sing when customers give him a tip. Working toward attending the Air Force Academy. Eagle Scout. Loves everything military.
	Joseph (Son #3) Born 1992. Loves to write. Playing baseball is his passion and he's pretty good at it too. Almost an Eagle Scout.
	Abbey (Daughter #2) Born 1994. Loves to dance with her 4H Club — clogging is her favorite. Loves to collect anything having to do with American Girl or Barbie. Also enjoys sewing.

Groceries	We spend an average of $350 per month on groceries to feed our family (now a family of six — John lives in his own house). $58 per person. The average family of four spends about $800 per month ($200 per person). We shop one time each month.
Cars	We always purchase pre-owned cars and pay cash for them. The last car we bought was a full sized Ford van. It had 20,000 miles on it and we paid $8,000. There are always deals to be found if you have patience and cash.
Kids and Money	We've developed a MoneySmart Kids system to teach our five kids to earn, save and spend their money wisely.
Pets	Two big German Shepherds and five Box turtles. In the past we've had lots of hamsters and two noisy parakeets.
